Retired members
Stay connected
Remain an integral part of the RCN and continue to contribute experience and expertise. Here you’ll find some of the services and benefits available to you at a reduced cost as an RCN retired member.
From 1 May 2022 two changes have been made to the retired membership category:
- Regulations will now be amended to enable members who retire with less than half their term of office remaining, and who stay in a full membership payment plan, to serve out the remaining terms of office even if their retirement means they no longer meet the eligibility criteria.
- The current requirement to be retired from all forms of employment will be changed to ‘to be retired from all forms of nursing employment’ to receive the reduced retired membership fee.
